Last night I dreamed that was running the maze of my brain and I discovered one of the demons that are so hard to fight. She was whispering words I couldn't understand. She sounded male, but I knew she wasn't.

She knew she was discovered and that I was tracking her down, but she continued to torment. As I came around the corner of the "room" she occupied, she giggled, sharp teeth gleaming..In my imagination, she wore black and red jester attired, bells and all, like the joker from a deck of cards. I recognized her as something that frightened and intrigued me as a child. I tried to act nonchalant, walk toward her as if I was amused. But she jumped straight into the air, captured a passing neural transmitter, and vanished. I wasn't so much disappointed as I was determined.
